A combination of the first three AW series is the Construction AW04, as it combines a 16cm soft wood fibre, 2.2cm soft wood fibre & 2.2cm tongue and grooved soft wood fibre with 5cm vertical ventilation slats and a 2.4cm external formwork. Installed with a Thoma H100-W17, the complete structure comes at 42.6cm in thickness with a U-value of 0.15, F60B fire protection from the inside and an area density of 130 Kg/m2.
The last of the external walls is the Construction AW05, using a base of Thoma H100-W30 with a thickness of 30.6cm. With a total of 10.2cm soft wood fibre, 5cm vertical ventilation slats, and a 2.4cm external formwork, the complete structure with 48.2cm thickness boasts a U-value of 0.15, F90B fire protection from the inside, and an area density of 165 kg/m2. As Thoma Holz100’s thickest external wall, it is also guaranteed for meeting high building standards.
The Construction AW03 uses the Thoma H100-W17 which is 17cm in thickness, but what’s different about this construction is the 12cm thick soft wood fibre as plaster base and 1.5cm system plaster according to manufacturer’s information – totaling the complete structure’s thickness at 30.5cm. It boasts a U-value of 0.20, F60B fire protection from the inside and an area density of 100 Kg/m2 to finish.
Next external wall is the Construction AW02, built upon the Thoma H100-W30 with a U-value of 0.18 and thickness of 30.6cm. Here also is placed the soft wood fiber with tongue and groove of 6cm in thickness as well as 5cm of vertical ventilation slats. The external formwork is 2.4cm thick, giving the complete structure a thickness of 44cm. The fire protection of this façade from the inside is F90B and an area density of 160kg/m2.
For construction of a Holz100 building, external walls are also of high importance. That’s why a variety of external walls specifically engineered towards sustainable building functions is also made available. Our first external wall, Construction AW01, is meant to be used with Thoma H100-W17 which embodies a U-value of 0.20 on its own. The next layering in thickness of 12cm is the soft wood fiber with tongue and groove built in.
World record breaking insulation values, non-toxic and glueless building material, soundproofing values of upto 54 decibels, and flexibility of prefabrication that Thoma Holz100 brings is phenomenal and unparalleled to any other building material or system in the world when it comes to its combined value in health, sustainability, and safety of its inhabitants. Our wall systems are certainly remarkable, to say the least.
The fire protection values of the AW01 is certified as F60B and area density of 115 Kg/m2. Next comes vertical ventilation slats in thickness of 5cm and an external formwork with a thickness of 2.4cm, giving the complete structure a thickness of 36.4cm. The total area density of this external wall is 115 Kg/m2, making it one of our most basic yet efficient way of completing the façade of a Holz100 building with proper technicalities.
The one particular wall system is our soundproofing wall. With a thickness of 32cm and its functionality being a partition wall of three layers: 14cm (H100), 6cm HW, 12cm H100, the central isolation is placed by the 6cm soft wood fiber plate. With an area density of 123kg/m2 and a similar bulk density to that of other Holz100 walls, it boasts of the highest soundproofing value according to TU Graz, which is an Rw value at 54 decibels.
Thoma Holz100’s thickest outer wall is the H100-W36, with a total thickness of 36.4cm and a core layer of 80mm. Its surface layer also comes in horizontal or vertical varieties, depending on the construction of 11 layers. With an area density of 159 kg/m2 and thermal conductivity lambda value of 0.079 W/mK, it boasts the highest fire protection according to TU Graz – an REI value of 120 among all Holz100 wall systems available.
The H100-W30 Thoma Holz100 outer wall with a thickness of 30.6cm and core layer of 80mm consists of 9 layers which can either embody a horizontal or vertical surface layer. Like the H100-W25, its bulk density is at 435kg/m3, and FH Wels of 0.079 W/mK for standard walls according to Hotbox measurement. Besides the thermal conductivity, its fire protection and burn-off rate according to certificate is also at 0.9mm per minute.
The thermal conductivity lambda value according to Hotbox measurement for Thoma Holz100 outer layer walls from H100-W25 on, from walls in thickness at or above 25cm is FH Wels of 0.079 W/mK as a standard wall. As a thermal insulation value meant to be designated for insulation materials such as fiberglass, it is the first building material ever to achieve a record-breaking certified insulation value.
Even thicker is the H100-W25, at 25cm with the same functionality of an outer wall. With a core layer of 80mm and surface layer either laid horizontally or vertically in 7 layers, its left to right placement is placed as follows: vertical-horizontal-diagonal-(standing core)-diagonal-horizontal-vertical with an area density of 109kg/m2 and bulk density of 435kg/m3. For fire protection, its burn-off rate is at 0.9mm/minute.
The thermal conductivity lambda value of the H100-W20 Holz100 outer wall system according to Hotbox measurement in FH Wels is 0.088 W/mK as a standard wall. Its burn-off rate according to certificate is 0.9mm/minute, a similar fire protection value to the inner wall systems as all Thoma Holz100 walls are made of the same component. Its soundproofing value according to TU Graz is at Rw of 41 decibels.
Next outer wall system of Holz100 is the H100-W20 with a slighter thicker width of 20cm with a core layer of 60mm. Its surface layer can also come in either vertical or horizontal facades, as its construction of 6 layers from left to right is as such: vertical-horizontal-diagonal-(standing core)-diagonal-vertical with an area density of 90kg/m2 and bulk density of 450kg/m3. Its functionality as an outer wall allows it to be supportive in construction use.
The H100-W17 Holz100 outer wall system has a thickness of 17cm with a core layer of 60mm. Its surface layer comes in either horizontal or vertical lengths in five separate layers. With an area density of 74kg/m2, its bulk density is valued at 450kg/m3. Its thermal conductivity lambda value according to Hotbox measurement, FH Wels, is at 0.088 W/mK – standard wall. Fire protection values according to IBS Linz stands at REI 60.
Thoma Holz100 has a much higher variety in its outer wall systems over its inner wall systems which only have two options. The surface layers of outer walls can be mounted either horizontally or vertically such as the H100-W17. For example, the H100-W17v has layers left to right from vertical-horizontal-(standing core)-diagonal-vertical while the H100-W17h has layers left to right in the order of horizontal-vertical-(standing core)-diagonal-horizontal.
For the H100-W14 inner wall system of Thoma Holz100, its layers from left to right mimic its thinner counterpart: horizontal-(standing core)-diagonal-horizontal. With its area density higher at approximately 65kg/m2, its bulk density stays the same at 450kg/m3 as well as the fire protection burn-off values according to certificate at 0.9mm per minute. It also boasts a soundproofing value according to TU Graz with Rw = 39dB.
For the H100-W12 inner wall system of Thoma Holz100, its layers from left to right are layered as such: horizontal-(standing core)-diagonal-horizontal. With its area density amounting to approximately 55kg/m2, its bulk density is valued at 450kg/m3 and fire protection/ burn-off values according to certificate is 0.9mm per minute. Designed to divide rooms and living spaces, yet not entirely support the building itself.
Thoma Holz100 inner wall systems range include the H100-W12 which has a thickness of 12cm, as well as the H100-W14 which has a thickness of 14cm. Both function as inner walls yet only the H100-W14 is under the supporting category as its core layer is 60mm compared to the 40mm of the W12. Their similarities lie in their surface layer being horizontal in direction, as well as consisting of four layers for both.
