Breathing Walls
Wood breathes in all components - this natural advantage of the material makes Holz100 useful. Holz100 walls are permeable and windproof. Thoma gives a 50-year condensation and mold warranty on its houses.
BREATHE.
Open to Diffusion and Windproof
From a building physics point of view, Holz100 walls consist of only one thick layer of wood material. There is therefore no change in vapor permeability within the wall and it does not condense any humidity, such as vapor barrier films or insulating materials commonly used in conventional construction.
At least since construction physicists and technical offices have been able to prove the windproofness of buildings through thermographic recordings and / or through appropriate tests (eg "blower door test"), a lot has changed. The world of wooden houses was divided into the good (windproof) and bad (leaky). Wooden houses, whistling in the truest sense of the word out of all holes are, unfortunately, not uncommon and wear the building material wood completely wrongly the reputation of a "barracks building material".
Leaky scraper passages and balcony beams, wall corners, sockets and walls are indeed unbearable, but have nothing at all to do with the material, but only with the poor workmanship.
Vapor barriers, vapor barriers, multi-layeredness should be remedied in light-weight pedestals, known in Austria as latch structures. A careless installer or electrician who drills a hole through the wall after the carpenter is enough to destroy everything. The drill hole acts like the needle stick in an inflated plastic bag. Gone is it with the windproofness. At the point where cold air enters, condensation, moisture, mold, odor form in the wall, behind formwork, plaster or plasterboard in winter.
A technically different way is the solid wood construction Holz100. Homogeneous exterior walls do not need vapor barriers or barriers. The vapor pressure is not intercepted abruptly on a foil layer, but degraded "gently" linearly through the whole mass. The density, solid construction from full wood therefore does not know this risk. Holz100 walls are tight even at the highest wind pressure. Also, the compounds of the elements with each other can be easily made safe and dense. It is best to make walls, ceilings and the roof of one and the same material - 100% wood - breathable, but windproof. The surfaces can then remain natural or painted, plastered, clinkered, etc. depending on their taste.
